Download and install Android SDK

Install Jelly Bean Compatible Custom Recovery.

Jelly Bean Custom Recovery is essential to flash ROMs and other Mods, Also you can take Nandroid backup of your HTC Desire X with a Custom Recovery installed. You can either use the One Click option in WinDroid to install the Custom Recovery or follow this manual method.

First step that should you do is download HBOOT Jelly Bean Compatible Custom Recover
Once you download it, put it in C Drive you need to connect your HTC Mobile to PC and Install HTC JB Drivers
Next, Open your android SDK, if you don't have it. download here.
Go to the \sdk\platform-tools folder.
If you use Windows 7, Keep the Shift Key pressed + Right click on an empty place in the platform-tools folder > Open Command Window here.
Then type :

adb devices

Then :

adb reboot bootloader

Once you bootoader, next type :

fastboot flash recovery c:\recovery.img

Follow by :

fastboot reboot-bootloader

fastboot erase cache

Now you have installed your custom recovery. Now Reboot your Phone.

Install SuperUser and BusyBox

Then you Copy and paste the SuperSU-v.02.zip file to your SD card, making sure the file goes to SD card and not to another folder
Turn Off Your HTC Desire XC and disconnect from USB cable
Next step is Boot your HTC Desire XC into recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power keys at the same time.
Then, Extract files from Recovery.rar in one location and simply click on recovery.bat. Press Enter and It will start pushing TWRP to your device and within few seconds it will show as finished.
Then Activate your windows command prompt, by press and hold windows logo + R, then you type cmd.exe.
cmd Root HTC Desire XC.
Type this command : fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery.img then press enter on your keyboard.
Disconnect phone and using volume keys select recovery option and reboot to recovery
Using the volume keys, go to the SuperSU-v2.02.zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm installation on next screen.
When the installation is complete, go to main recovery menu and reboot phone by selecting "reboot system now".

After your HTC One (E8) reboots, you should see the SuperSU app in your apps list, confirming that you now have root access on your device.
To check and ensure that you have done root process, you can download root checker at google play store

You can replace C:\Users\XDADev\Downloads\UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip with your path.
Than on On your HTC One M9 device, click Install, then at the top of the screen it should say Internal Storage or SDCard. If it does not say SD Card, click it and change it to SD Card.
Now find SuperSU.zip, click on it, and swipe to flash it.
Once SuperSU is done flashing reboot the phone, and open up SuperSU.
Great, You are now rooted

When you finished flash custom recovery, you would give tons of features and install other tweaks that require full system access to your android devices. Now, I will explain to you how to unlock bootloader on your HTC phones devices.

Attention : Unlocking your device may void all or parts of your warranty by HTC.

What is your prepair ?

Make sure that your device is HTC phone, because our guide is dedicated for HTC phones only.
Download and install USB Driver of your HTC phone.
Download and extract fastboot file in C:/drives
After you install it, connect your device to your PC or computer

Download HTC Sync for USB drivers
Next step that should you do is make sure your phone battery is 70% - 80% charged.
Warning : Your phone might go dead permanently when your phone goes off suddenly, because your battery power is not charger properly when you perfomrming flash ROMs or installing mods and updates
All you important data, like music, video, and application will delete or wipe all. So, you must backup all data before unlock bootloader.

I will explain to you step by step how to unlock bootloader on HTC smartphone. You must read all activity carefully before you apply to perform it to your HTC smartphone devices.

When website was opened, you can find register link on top of page, then you clik it to create an account at HTCDev website.

Fill all form that appear on website. be carefull to make a password, you have to use minimum One Uppercase, One Lower Case, and One Number combination.

After you finished fill all registrartion form, you will see notification page that you have completed registration.

Next step is Activate you account by open your Inbox at your Email.

When you find new Email from HTCDev, Open it and find link like this picture below. then click it.

You will redirect to Account Activation Page, that gife you notification if your account is activated.

Now, you open HTCDev.com. Here again to Log in use your activated account.

Then clik on Unlock Bootloader button.

And click Get Started button

It will show you about Unlocking Bootloader page, bellow the Supported Device you can find your device by click Select Your Device drop down list. Then you click Begin Unlock Bootloader.

You must Carefully read the warning popup message and then press the ‘Yes’ button.

Check both the boxes in the Legal Terms popup box. Now press the “Proceed to Unlock Instructions” button.

Now we back to our HTC smartphone device.
Turn Off your HTC by Press and Hold Power Button for 10 seconds
After your HTC smartphone devices fully turn off, press Volume down and Power Button to start your device into Bootloader Menu.

When you in bootloader menu, Use the Volume buttons to select up or down. Then you Highlight Fastboot and press the Power button to select.

After you done it, now connect your HTC device to your PC with USB Cable.

Then Activate your windows command prompt, by press and hold windows logo + R, then you type cmd.exe

when command prompt window opened, now you can type the following command and press Enter.
type : cd c:/fastboot

then type : fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Now, you will see long integer as your token, then you open this page.

Copy and paste this text into the the token field below (in the Windows command prompt: Right Click > Mark > highlight the block of text > Right click to copy. Mac users can use cmd-option to mark and select text.).
When copying the token, start with this line: <<<< Identifier Token Start >>>>
And end with this line: <<<<< Identifier Token End >>>>>
Note: Only copy the highlighted sections above. Do not copy the INFO or (bootloader) prefix
After you copied, paste that identifier token into the box at the bottom of that HTCDev page and then click Submit.

Then You will receive an email by HTC (on the registered email) with a link to the second part of the instructions and your “Unlock_code.bin” file attached.
Download “Unlock_code.bin” and save it in your Fastboot folder (C:\fastbooot in our case).
Now type the following command in Command Prompt and press Enter. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin.
Then Check your phone. Read on-screen instructions. Press Volume Up to accept and the Power button to confirm.
